Christine and Sundance Reprise from Kat & Cat Quilts

Happy Friday, quilters! A month or so ago I showed you some color block quilts from Christine that were quilted by Sundance Quilting. Here are the rest of them!

I used the simple layout as a chance to choose some really fun backings and quilting motifs.

This Christmas quilt got golfing Santas on the back. Don't ask me why I had holding-Santa fabric.

Things are going well here. The last block drive has wrapped up, but feel free to still send in blocks if you want. I haven't started to assemble the tops yet.

These last two quilts ...

Friday Finishes from Kat & Cat Quilts

Happy Friday, quilters! Got some good quilts to show you this week. This beauty is a top made by Christine and quilted by Linda.

The pattern is "String Theory" by Sharon Tucker of Grass Roots Quilt Studio. Christine found the perfect backing and binding to send with it.

This next top also came from Christine and was sent out to Sundance Quilting to be finished.

Sundance did this pretty feathered Baptist fan design that really lets this scrap quilt shine.

Next up, two quilts that were quilted by my old circle-mate from do. Good Stitches, Jenny!

This bright quilt was ...

Christine & Sundance from Kat & Cat Quilts

Happy Friday, quilters! I've got some simple but beautiful quilts to show this week. Christine sent these tops in quite a while ago (like a year ago, face palm) and they have been patiently waiting their turn for the quilter.

Because the quilt pattern is so simple I really wanted to show off some special quilting pantos. Note the bumble bee hexies above.

Enter Sundance Quilting! CiL always has a stock of tops needing to be quilted, since that step in the process tends to be our bottle neck. Thanks to some generous donations I had the funds to ...

Beautiful donated tops from Kat & Cat Quilts

Hello, friends! Louise here to share some really lovely tops that were donated to Covered in Love recently. I quilted and bound them and now they are ready to comfort families. First up is this bright, modern quilt pieced by Christine. The black centers of each block are a fun confetti design.

Next is this cute disappearing nine patch by Donna. Have you ever tried this block design? I've made several myself and it's so versatile.

For the back, I used this blue floral that was also donated. Zingy!

Next is this all-batik bargello pieced by Priscilla. I ...

More of your orphan blocks and UFOs from Kat & Cat Quilts

Hello, again! Louise here with another batch of quilts made from the parts and pieces that YOU have sent in. Let's start with the one that was the closest to completion when it arrived. I think this style is called a "Baltimore Album." The central blocks and several borders were finished and I only needed to add the final 2 or 3 borders to bring it up to size. I'm pleased that I had fabric that coordinated really nicely with the greens and deep reds of the center. While these are classic Christmas colors, the design isn't ...

Christmas Eve Quilts from Kat & Cat Quilts

Some spring-y quilts for the cold Christmas eve!  I'm making the rounds visiting family, Christmas is my favorite!

Only two quilts today, these were both quilted by Linda. I wanted to show some closeups of the quilting because it's brilliant.   This beautiful batik top came from Christine B, it's butterfly themed.  Look at the lower left corner where the sun is hitting to see the true colors of the border.

There was an additional outer border with large rainbow batik butterflies, but we decided since it made the quilt so large to save that and make a ...

Bright Happy Quilts from Louise from Kat & Cat Quilts

Tammy is still hard at work on the May/June block drive quilts! Visit her blog to see the latest!

Louise sent me this batch of orphan block quilts a while back and they've been waiting their turn for a photo shoot.  The blocks that started this quilt came from Cathy and Louise added some.

Some of the blocks appear to be from the book Farmhouse Vintage. I love the embroidered details on the mixer and the bee.

Louise blogged about these quilts on her site here.  So you can read more details there.

These wonky stars and the ...

Baby Hugs for Jack's Basket from Kat & Cat Quilts

Some happy little quilts this week! Christine B. sent in several tops with backing a while back for Jack's Basket along with a donation for CiL.

For anyone who hasn't heard of them, Jack's Basket is a charity that gives "Welcome" baskets with fun stuff and educational materials, and support resources to families that have a new baby with Down Syndrome.

Jack's Basket is one of my favorite charities that to give to when we have extra materials or things that don't work well for CiL.

I follow Jack's Basket on Instagram where they ...

Orphans, UFOs, and WIPs from Kat & Cat Quilts

Welcome back to another rundown of quilts Louise has put together from the unfinished projects and odds and ends that are donated to Covered in Love! This modern setting of orphan blocks with negative space is one of my favorites, Louise blogged about it here

Louise also made this Jacob's Ladder from some charm packs. She wrote a funny blog about it here.

These present blocks came from Christine and made a quick finish, blogged here

I tried to capture to metallic gold in the fabrics, but you'll just have to take my word for it! There were ...

Spring Has Sprung from Kat & Cat Quilts

Yes, it's officially definitely Spring time here in Texas! Those infamous April showers are in full effect. This is the time of year when Texas gets about 80% of our rain for the whole year.

I've been on a quest to make serious progress on all the quilt tops that have been donated to CiL. These three with the beautiful spring colors and patterns came from Christine! Maybe someone can recognize the fabric line with the cute bees and geometric patterns?

Obviously I was struggling to take these pictures, but with 20+ quilts piling up pictures had to ...

Christine's Quilts from Kat & Cat Quilts

Late post going up today, sorry about that! I had to be up super early the past 2 days with my nursing students for their first clinical days and Friday snuck up on me.

These 6 quilt tops came to me from Christine in Florida for Covered in Love and I finished them recently.

Christine sent me all of her tops kitted up with backings and binding to match, perfectly ready to go!

This scrappy top, above, was the one that became my inspiration for my scrap buster string top. You can see the tutorial I uploaded for that here ...

A Basket Full of Quilts for Jack from Kat & Cat Quilts

Happy Friday! I normally get my posts ready on Thursdays but I got behind this week.  The quilts I have to show this week aren't for CiL, but they are charity quilts!

Since I'm settling into my new quilting space I wanted to work on some smaller projects and Christine from FL had sent me 5 baby quilt tops for Jack's Basket all kitted up with matching backing and bindings.

These 5 baby quilts were the perfect way to break in my new space with some quick projects for my other favorite charity ;)

Jack's Basket gives ...
